D8-THCV – What is Delta8-Tetrahydrocannabivarin?
Describing the meaning of the term D8-THCV
As you might have guessed, Delta8 Tetrahydrocannabivarin is a cannabinoid. We extract D8-THCV from Hemp or the cannabis Sativa plant because it occurs there naturally. Nevertheless, it occurs in these plants only in tiny doses. To explain, we need to break the term into two. First, Delta 8 is the short form of D8-THC (Delta 8- tetrahydrocannabinol). It is a cannabis compound that is almost the same as Delta 9 THC.
However, the two items have unique chemical structures. As a result of having THC, Delta 8 can cause euphoria. Now let us explain THCA. It is a cannabis compound developed within a plant, and the beginning product is cannabigerovarin acid (CBGVA). After that, it slowly turns into THCVA (Tetrahydrocannabivarin) until the cannabis or hemp plant matures.
For THCVA to drop the acid molecule, it requires exposure to heat through a process called decarboxylation. Also known as decarbing, decarboxylation may happen when we are extracting D8-THCV. It can also occur when smoking or vaping. After heat exposure, the acid molecule (A) converts into THCV.
What are the differences between D8-THCV AND D9-THCV?
One clear similarity between the two cannabinoid compounds is that they are varins. The meaning of this is that the two have chains of three carbon atoms. As for the differences, the main difference is where they appear on the atomic double bond structure.
The double bond for D8-THCV is a single acid chain before that of D9-THCV. This is enough reason to believe that both of them can cause the same effects in your body. As of now, no research can confirm that D8-THCV can be as beneficial as its Delta 9 counterpart. Perhaps some scientists will prove how the two cannabinoids can react the same way in the body.
Can D8-THCV have healing effects?
